Dog toughs it out in desexing

Townsville Bulletin - - NEWS -

COWBOYS player Antonio Winterstein’s dog may be desexed, but he is still tough enough to guard the family home.

Mr Winterstein and wife Brooke are trying to dispel the myth that desexing male dogs makes them wimpy, as part of the RSPCA’s Operation Wanted. The aim is to increase the number of animals being desexed and reduce the amount of unwanted pets.

Until August 31, participating vets are offering 20 per cent off desexing cats and dogs.

Mr Winterstein said desexing also increased your dog’s life expectancy.

“After finding out all the facts involved, I realised desexing is best,” he said.

“I love my dog and want him in our family for as long as possible. He still protects our home and my family, so he’s definitely still as tough as they come.”
