Arty young fashionistas find they wear success well
CREATIVE kids at the Whitsundays will spend their school holidays designing and sewing wearable art for three prestigious fashion events scheduled for August.
Bowen has a proud record of success in wearable art and fashion design at local, regional, state and national levels and students will get the opportunity to shine again.
First on the event calendar is the 2015 Calliope Catwalk Fashion Design Awards on Saturday, August 1. The event has multiple categories in wearable art and fashion for primary and secondary students and will co- host the Central Queensland final of the Apex Australia Teenage Fashion Awards on the same night.
The Whitsunday Reef Festival is hosting the Wilmar Sugar Wearable Art Awards on Saturday, August 8. Students from Year 3 upwards can enter this event with all entry forms due by the end of July.
The Mackay Festival of Fashion later in the year has art, wearable art and fashion categories.
