Skate park up and rolling
GIRU skaters will be able to practise new tricks and flips, with the new skate park assembled in time for the school holidays.
It comes after a petition was formed within the Giru youth community to get infrastructure to allow them to hone their skills.
The Giru Progress Association contributed $ 35,000 to the project, with Wilmar Sugar offering to construct the cement slab while council covered the remainder of the costs.
Materials arrived on June 24, with construction starting soon after. The equipment was supplied by Urban Play, with its team working on site from Thursday to Saturday to put the pieces into place.
