A total of 480 competitors took to the ring on Saturday for their chance to claim prizemoney at the event, which replaced the two rodeos usually held at Bartlett Park each year.

The junior and novice events were rolled into the Saturday event after sponsorship fell short.

It was a long day of competition, starting at 9am and finishing at 10.30pm.

Committee member Erin Jusseaume said it was non- stop rodeo action.

“The crowd was second to none … the competitors just kept feeding off it,” she said.
