Daly will be back

Townsville Bulletin - - SPORT -

IF DALY Cherry- Evans was hurting about his Queensland dumping, he certainly wasn’t letting it show at Manly training yesterday.

Cherry- Evans is expected to make Maroons’ coach Mal Meninga look like a goose for punting him from Origin III by playing a blinder at Brookvale Oval.

That’s the view of Immortal and Blues great Andrew Johns, who was spotted working with Cherry- Evans in his assistant coaching role with the Sea Eagles.

The pair, along with Kieran Foran, spent nearly an hour after the session running plays.

Johns didn’t want to get drawn into sacking, but said “Daly will respond like all the top players do — he’ll be man of the match on Sunday.’’
