The record number of entrants aged 8- 17 in the Adventurethon Townsville National Challenge will compete in a paddle, running and mountain biking contest. Madeleine Wallace, 9, is looking forward to the race and will compete for the third time.

“I can’t wait, it’s so much fun,” she said.

“I enjoy working as a team and being a team member, and pushing yourself for the rest of the team.

“It’s all about getting fit and having fun and the awesome.”

Adventurethon Townsville director Joel Savage said the relatively mild winter weather is perfect for the event and will attract competitors from Mackay, Bowen, Moranbah and locally.
