Bomb dug up on road

Townsville Bulletin - - NEWS -

A CONSTRUCTION worker at a Northern Territory roadworks site has discovered an unexploded bomb dating back to the 1942 Japanese bombing of Darwin. “He must have stumbled on it one way or another,” a police spokeswoman said yesterday. The joint logistics unit of the Australian Defence Force was called in and determined the bomb was safe to remove.
