Townsville Bulletin - - NEWS -

TOWNSVILLETOW residents are being urged to nominate an unsung hero in the fight against domestic and family violence.

The Sky Foundation, which raises vital funds for the Townsville Womens Centre, will give away a hot lap to say thank you to one local person who has gone above and beyond to help others.

The hot lap was donated by Payce, which is owned by property developer and revhead Brian Boyd, and a sponsor of the V8 Supercars Wilson Security Racing team.

Foundation committee member Roanne Boldery said the company had been a big supporter of their cause.

“We want to say thank you to someone who has helped others facing family or domestic violence in our community,” she said. “That could be someone who goes the extra mile to help local charities that assist people dealing with domestic or family violence, or have taken victims into their own home.

“The nominee could nominate someone who has helped them through such a crisis.”

Nominations can be made via the Sky Foundation Facebook page, with the winner to be announced tomorrow.
