Syria base attacked

Townsville Bulletin - - NEWS -

AN al- Nusra Front suicide bomber has killed 25 Syrian soldiers and fighters loyal to President Bashar al- Assad in an attack on an army base in western Aleppo, activists say. The attacker blew himself up inside a vehicle “in front of an orphanage used by the regime as a base in Al Zahra neighbourhood,” the opposition Britain- based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights director Rami Abdel Rahman said. Once a powerhouse of industry, Syria’s second city of Aleppo has been devastated by years of fighting between regime forces and a succession of rebel groups. The government largely controls the city’s west.
