Promise for long- term jobless
A T O W N S V I L L E - b a s e d company to be launched today is seeking to provide better outcomes for the long- term unemployed.
U2E People, short for unemployed to employed, is the brainchild of recruitment professional Rabieh Krayem and has the support of enterprises including Townsville City Council.
“Possibly the hardest step for those who have been longterm unemployed is getting through the application process to interview,” Mr Krayem said.
“At U2E, we work with people right from the beginning, assessing their training needs, helping with their resumes and applications and preparing them for interview and we have already had some successful outcomes locally.”
U2E provides a jobmatching service by working as an employment broker for job providers.
They have also partnered with recruitment firm The Search Party to provide a free, online jobs board and recruitment platform specifically focused on longterm unemployed job seekers.
“Unlike other online jobs boards which target people already in work, we are here to give the long- term unemployed a chance to develop the skills and confidence they need to get back to work,” Mr Krayem said.
The company, to be launched by Mayor Jenny Hill today, will operate from premises at Hermit Park and will be co- located with human resources group Outcome Results.
