Winterstein strain minor

Townsville Bulletin - - SPORT -

COWBOYS winger Antonio Winterstein won’t need surgery but it’s unclear whether a minor pectoral strain will keep him out of North Queensland’s clash with the Manly Sea Eagles on Monday week.

Winterstein missed the second half of Saturday’s win over St George- Illawarra in Wollongong as a precaution and scans in Townsville yesterday showed the strain was only minor.

The 27- year- old won’t need surgery and the injury didn’t exacerbate the complete pectoral tear which saw him miss the second half of the 2011 season.

Winterstein has scored six tries in 13 games for the Cowboys this season.
