Karters greet their idols
FOR keen young kart racers Thomas Turner and Tristan Lambert, getting the chance to meet their favourite V8 drivers is the real highlight of the Townsville 400.
The boys enjoyed the first day of the V8 action, watching the races and meeting drivers like James Courtney.
Thomas said it was his sixth year kart racing and it was good for learning about spatial awareness and reaction times.
“Hopefully I’ll move up to V8s myself,” he said.
Courtney, a former world karting champion, took time to talk with the boys as he launched a merchandise range associated with his passion project, JC Karts.
