Sieders puts boot into claim on ute series

DAVID “Sideways” Sieders has surged into the top three of the Australian V8 Ute Racing series after a pair of impressive wins at the Townsville 400 yesterday.
Sieders started the final race from pole position after his race two win earlier in the day and he held the lead comfortably in both events to take his first race wins for the year and first in a Holden.
Races two and three had identical top threes with Sieders leading home Adam Marjoram and Nathan Pretty to complete two straight races of Holden dominance.
“I think the Holden is what I needed to get the monkey off my back here in Townsville, we’re so happy to finally get a podium and race win this year,” Sieders said. “We got great starts all weekend and I know it’s testament to the team’s work on the car.”
Sieders’ win put him into third place in the overall standing, 20 points behind Marjoram in second and 30 adrift of series leader Ryal Harris, who slumped to finishes of ninth and 14th on Sunday.
“Bring on the rest of year,” Sieders said.
