TONI Collette ( pictured) is doing a Christmas movie with a horror twist — this time Santa Claus is bad.

The Aussie actress made an appearance at Comic Con in San Diego over the weekend to promote her upcoming seasonal film, Krampus, with costar Adam Scott.

The acting pair, with director Michael Dougherty, spoke on a panel after showing the first trailer to the Christmas horror film about this darker Santa Claus character, based on German folklore, who doesn’t bring presents but snatches children and puts them in a bag.

The film eschews CGI effects to show real monsters instead, and has been likened to 1980s horror films such as Poltergeist.

“It felt like we were a functional, dysfunctional family living in a house and these monsters were actually trying to kill us,” Scott said on the panel.

“The slime looks so much better when it’s real,” Dougherty said.
