Miss USA crowned World Snapshot:

Townsville Bulletin - - NEWS -

TWENTY- six- year- old Olivia Jordan of Oklahoma has won the 64th annual Miss USA contest, beating 50 other women from states around the country and the District ofo Columbia.

Twenty- two- year- old Ylianna Guerra of Texas was named first runner- up. This year’s contest, held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, had been largely overshadowed by comments made by pageant co- owner and real estate mogul Donald Trump while running for president. Trump criticised Mexican immigrants in comments that led to widespread fallout against his business dealings including the pageant.

Broadcasters dropped the pageant and a slew of celebrities lined up to perform, judge and host dropped out.
