Katter unloads over cattle cut
KENNEDY MP Bob Katter says Indonesia’s cut to Australian cattle imports is retaliation for criticism over the execution of drug traffickers Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran.
Mr Katter said Indonesia’s decision to reduce the quota to just 50,000 head in the next quarter would be disastrous for North Queensland producers.
He criticised Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Foreign Minister Julie Bishop’s treatment of Indonesia over the execution of the drug traffickers.
He said Mr Abbott had gone out of his way to kick Indonesia at every opportunity.
“It ( the treatment) has been no better and probably worse than Julia Gillard’s if that’s humanly possible,” he said.
