Plan to spell out changes

TOWNSVILLE’S city plan, which is less than a year old, will un­dergo a num­ber of changes – from fix­ing up spell­ing mis­takes to chang­ing the zon­ing of parcels of land. Townsville City Coun­cil’s Plan­ning and De­vel­op­ment Com­mit­tee will to­day con­sider changes to the plan, adopted on Oc­to­ber 13, 2014. The big­gest al­ter­ation will be chang­ing a par­cel of land ad­ja­cent to the Stu­art State De­vel­op­ment Area from ru­ral to light in­dus­trial. Com­mit­tee chair Tony Par­sons said the pro­posal would go to con­sul­ta­tion be­fore be­ing voted on. Other changes are de­signed to keep up with in­dus­try stan­dards and oth­ers cor­rect spell­ing and gram­mar.
