Hird resting up after bike fall
ESSENDON AFL club doctor Bruce Reid claims a good dose of rest will aid James Hird in his bid to coach in Friday night’s Round 16 opener.
The Bombers coach fell heavily from his bicycle while riding home from a Monday night training session.
He was left severely concussed by the fall, spending that night in hospital before being discharged yesterday.
Dr Reid left the door open for Hird to coach on Friday against North Melbourne.
“His condition has improved significantly since last night,” Dr Reid said yesterday.
“The medical staff were happy to send him home today for some more rest.”
