AUS­TRALIAN Army sol­diers of the 2nd con­ducted an am­phibi­ous as­sault at Fog B the week­end as part of Ex­er­cise Tal­is­man

The Townsville sol­diers are de­ployed t North­ern Ter­ri­tory as an en­emy force in s the ex­er­cise that be­gan ear­lier this month along­side US Marines from the 31st Marin Ex­pe­di­tionary Unit.

Es­tab­lish­ing a de­fen­sive po­si­tion, the sm pits in the ground and around their perim ma­chine­gun po­si­tions and con­ducted dril any per­ceived threats.

This is the sixth Tal­is­man Sabre ex­erci about 30,000 Aus­tralian and US par­tic­ipa un­der­tak­ing plan­ning ac­tiv­i­ties and milita at sea, in the air and on land.

This year marks the first time that the e take place si­mul­ta­ne­ously within the Shoa Bay Train­ing Area, near Rock­hamp­ton, an Brad­shaw field train­ing area, south­west of North­ern Ter­ri­tory.
