Matt Hale combines hypnotism with plenty of humour for a barrel of laughs, writes RACHEL RILEY

COMEDIAN Matt Hale is here this week to perform his hypnosis show with a twist at the School of Arts Theatre.

Get Hypnotised! The Matt Hale Comedy Hypnosis Show combines all the fun of total audience participation with the incredible abilities of the mind, turning the traditional hypnosis show on its head.

Winner of three national comedy awards, Hale is a professional comedy stage hypnotist based in Australia who has hypnotised people around the world, from London to Las Vegas.

The general manager of School of Arts Townsville, Trevor Keeling, explained the anticipation for the show.

“The School of Arts has never held a show like this one before,” he said

“Matt’s shows are fast- paced and funny. Our audience is set to have an amazing experience, one they will remember for a long time.

“Shared laughter is a powerful positive experience and this is a real example of how a night out with friends can assist in bringing together a community, keeping them connected and engaged.”

Hale said audiences could expect to see hypnotised volunteers transported into bizarre car journeys, talking alien and unleashing talents they never knew they had – but it was all in fun and not embarrassing.

“I like to use the power of suggestion to unlock the hidden talents of the audience,” he said.

“Every audience is different, every person unique, so in that way no two shows are ever the same,” he said.
