King Social set to play free gig, writes RACHEL RILEY

Acoustic chill thrill

Townsville Bulletin - - LIFESTYLE -

TOWNSVILLE residents have the chance to hear a free acoustic session by King Social tomorrow night at Zambrero in Cannon Park.

Fresh off the plane from their Sydney gig last week at the Oxford Art Factory, the band is excited to be supporting a locally- owned franchise business.

Zambrero Cannon Park franchise owner David Scott said the restaurant was trying to be creative and innovative in its approach to attracting more patrons and repeat business.

“Times are a bit tough in Townsville at the moment for business, so we need to be as innovative as we can to try and get people through the doors,” he said.

“Every couple of weeks the restaurant hosts ‘ chill out Friday’ and we have had a few local acts play some low- key tunes to help people unwind after a week at work.

“King Social is an awesome local band that has singlehandedly reignited the live music scene around here, all with original music.

“To have them here on Friday is going to be a real boost for us and a great opportunity for locals to hear some of their music without a cover charge.”

King Social, supported by DJ Kelly Neville, will play an acoustic set at Zambrero, Cannon Park Shopping Centre, tomorrow night from 6pm.

Entry is free.
