Fitness to cut injury

Townsville Bulletin - - SPORT -

GOLD Coast coach Rodney Eade says new Suns fitness expert Justin Cordy is the man to end the club’s injury curse.

Cordy will join the Suns as high performance manager when his commitments finish with the Western Bulldogs.

Cordy has also worked with Carlton and Cricket Australia and has established a reputation for getting, and keeping, elite athletes fit.

The Gold Coast saw in Cairns last weekend how well Cordy prepares teams when the hardrunning Bulldogs blitzed the Suns in a 10 goal to two fourth quarter.

Eade worked with Cordy at the Bulldogs a decade ago and said there was no doubt he would whip the club into shape.

He said Cordy’s biggest asset was hardening players for the rigours of top- level football and keeping injury rates to a minimum.
