War on in Showdown
ADELAIDE is in a “really good headspace’’ and has declared “war’’ on Port Adelaide as the grieving clubs turn their attention to Showdown 39.
Players from the Crows and Power mingled and consoled each other at yesterday’s emotional memorial for Phil Walsh at Adelaide Oval, and then it was back to business.
“We’re not just going to rock up and link arms and all smile – it’s war on the weekend, we’re going there to win,’’ Adelaide’s Patrick Dangerfield said.
“We need to get back to that really aggressive mentality, that’s what we’ll be doing this weekend and that’s what I think our supporters want to see.
“We have to get back to work and look forward to the teams we’re playing against, including the Showdown, because ultimately that’s what Phil would want.
