Dugan faces Inglis – again

Townsville Bulletin - - SPORT -

OH NO, not again.

NSW fullback Josh Dugan watched Maroons opposite Greg Inglis run riot in Queensland’s historic 46- point State of Origin romp last Wednesday night.

Dugan needed a 10- day break to recover.

Now, having overcome the physical and mental exhaustion of Origin, Dugan returns to rugby league to again face, you guessed it, the irresistible Inglis. It’s Dugan’s deja vu. In a mouth- watering individual dual, Dugan’s Dragons will confront Inglis’ Rabbitohs in Saturday night’s important game at the SCG.

This match will commemorate the 50th anniversary of St George’s famous 12- 8 grand final win over Souths at the SCG, before a then record crowd of 78,056.

“I love coming up against the great fullbacks of the game and ‘ GI’ is one of them,” Dugan said.

“It is always a challenge coming up against him but it’s one that I love.”

Asked did he want to squareup with Inglis for Origin III, Dugan said: “You’ve got to let Origin go and move on. And that’s what I have been doing over the last few days.“

Dugan was one of NSW’s best over the series. Inglis is a future Immortal. This will be some match- up.

“You want to come to this great ground in this great game and play against the best players,” Inglis said.
