Boyd’s stolen Audi defaced

Townsville Bulletin - - NEWS -

A LUXURY sports car stolen from the home of rugby league Test winger Darius Boyd was substantially damaged, a court has heard.

A 19- year- old woman allegedly found with the Audi A5 coupe appeared in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court yesterday.

Hayley Anne Gillespie had been due to plead guilty to a string of charges including unlawful use of a motor vehicle and failing to stop. However, the case was adjourned until next month so the vehicle’s value can be assessed by insurers.

The court heard restitution for harm to the car is being sought and the damage looked to be substantial.

“It’s been spray- painted on the roof … and the bonnet,” police prosecutor Sergeant Graham Turner said. “It looks like a professional job.”
