Harper takes credit for LNP’s work

Townsville Bulletin - - OPINION -

I RECEIVED a flyer in the mail from Aaron Harper, who calls himself the “new Member For Thuringowa” – he was elected almost six months ago.

Good heavens, Aaron, the previous LNP member had already established the groundwork for the new Upper Ross Community Centre.

Many of the previous member’s projects ( extra police, police hub, juvenile crime, local security) exist to this day.

The flyer also tabled Aaron’s “achievements”. He claims to have secured funding for two school crossings. Both were verified before the election and were promoted by the previous LNP member.

He claims to have secured funding for the Ring Road completion. This project has been rubberstamped for years. The previous LNP government and present Federal Government made this possible.

He claims to have secured funding for the Dalrymple/ Bohle bridge. This $ 5 million was left over from the Blakeys Crossing project and transferred to the Bohle Bridge by the previous LNP government.

Such misleading propaganda is not a good sign.

TOM DARLINGTON,

Kelso.
