HONEY from the kanuka plant may help peo­ple with the chronic skin con­di­tion rosacea. The plant is re­lated to manuka trees and is na­tive to New Zealand and Aus­tralia. A study, by re­searchers from NZ’s Univer­sity of Otago, found that af­ter eight weeks, 34 per cent of those who had ap­plied the honey had less se­vere rosacea com­pared with 17 per cent of those us­ing the placebo. os­acea is a type of skin in­flam­ma­tion that af­fects the face.
