RISKY BUSINESS, BUT YOU’VE GOT TO GLOVE CHARITY

Townsville Bulletin - - NEWS - VICTORIA NUGENT

MEMBERS of Townsville’s business community will face off in the boxing ring to raise money for charity.

Real estate agents, financial advisers, police, paramedics and firefighters are among those stepping up to take part in a charity fight night.

Each participant chooses their own charity with picks including White Ribbon and the upgrade of the Townsville Hospital children’s ward.

Financial adviser Michael Hogue and real estate agent Josh Thornton are among those putting on the gloves.

“Everyone wants to see a real estate agent fight a financial adviser because someone’s got to lose,” Mr Hogue said.

Townsville City Council employee Lani Vincent said she was enjoying the challenge.

“We can all train together but when you step into the ring you’re by yourself,” she said.

Organiser Brett Johnston, from Body Torque gym, said he was hoping the second annual event would better last year’s effort, which raised about $ 75,000 for the charities. The Fight For Your Cause fight night will be held September 18 at Townsville RSL Stadium. For more information vist fightforyourcause. net
