Shorten in FTA stand
OPPOSITION Leader Bill Shorten has warned against Australia opening the floodgates for Chinese workers as part of the free trade deal inked last year. Mr Shorten will propose changes when it goes before Parliament. He reiterated his support for free trade but warned not every deal was a quality agreement. ACTU president Ged Kearney told ABC Radio the deal could undermine local wages and jobs and urged Labor to block the implementation of parts of the agreement that will undermine local workers.
