Townsville Bulletin - - LIFESTYLE -

SOME of Townsville’s runway beauties will be tearing off the layers for the chance to become an international lingerie model.

The Avenues Tavern kicked off its annual Lingerie Model Search with heat one last week and heat two will be sure to get audiences hot under the collar tomorrow from 8pm in the Sports Bar.

The final will be held on Friday, July 31, from 8pm and will have 10 girls competing to go to the national final on the Gold Coast next t month.

The winner of the national final gets to go to Las Vegas in September to walk on the runway at the Las Vegas International Lingerie Show, where she will be featured and highlighted in the Exclusive Runway Presentation.

“It’s a competition for girls to follow in the steps of Miranda Kerr, who has set an inspiring example by building a high international profile as a popular Victoria’s Secret runway and catalogue model,” p promoter Courtney Hyde said.

Local prizes include a 12- month Genesis Fitness gym membership, a hair makeover and style at Da Vinci Hair and Beauty Studio and a cash prize from the Avenues Tavern.

The girls compete in three s sections on the night — sponsor w wear, evening wear and lingerie.

“The Lingerie Model Search is a g great competition because it allows different girls to showcase their style and personality through th the li lingerie, compared to a swimwear or bikini competition which doesn’t allow for as much personality or creativity on the runway,” Ms Hyde said.

The girls who have already made it through from heat one to the final are Stephanie Mears, Amelia CloutSten, Saeran Tanton, Lara Mitton and Nakita Lourie.
