Blackstars 57- 43 in their topof- the- table clash.

Recently retired Townsville Fire legend Rachael McCully starred for Hyats with 24 points and her teammate Lisa Brennan added 20, while Claudia Brassard was Blackstars’ best with 18 in the loss.

Hyats didn’t fare as well in the men’s championship division this week after they went down to Bouncers 71- 66.

Townsville Heat duo Matthew Rees and Keegan Tudehope led the way for Bouncers with 17 and 16 points respectively, while Hyats’ standout performers were Brady Rutland ( 24 points) and Daniel Missingham ( 21). Blackstars were also winners this week, holding off a late Whirlwinds charge to hang on for a 67- 66 win.

The win sees Blackstars retain top spot on the ladder and came on the back of 27 points from Jackson Todd and 17 from Tom Howard.

Whirlwinds were led by Charton Offerman’s 20 points while Ethan Betts and Ben Jamieson had 18 points each in a losing effort.

In the other fixture this week Michael Sakkas’ 31 points wasn’t enough as Cannons cruised past Serpents 81- 66 behind a big game from Josh Myles ( 23 points).
