THE Queensland Government will take any legal action it can to claw back the state funds that contributed to corrupt former minister Gordon Nuttall’s nest egg.

But Mr Pitt has stressed the Government may not be able to get all t h e m o n e y back bec a u s e time limits to pursue funds have expired on some of the former minister’s offences.

“We are very keen to ensure ... that if we can recoup any money, we will,” Mr Pitt said.

The Treasurer accused the previous Liberal National government of sitting on its hands over the issue.

Health Minister Cameron Dick went further, blaming former treasurer Tim Nicholls.

He said Mr Nicholls was advised by Treasury in 2013 to either take legal action, come to a settlement or do nothing about the contributions.

“Tim Nicholls did nothing,” Mr Dick said.
