Townsville Bulletin - - NEWS -

EVEN the kings of the jungle need to branch out on a tree change occasionally.

And in Africa, an entire pride of lions decided to take a kip — 4m up a tree.

At least 15 of the beasts were caught on camera lounging on the branches of a sturdy tree in the Serengeti, Tanzania.

But, while it might look as though they were using the vantage point to seek out prey, photographer Bobby- Jo Clow, from Dubbo, New South Wales, revealed the laid- back pride was actually trying to escape flies living in the long grass.
