Aussie Bond coming home for festival
MOVE aside big merino, the name’s Bond, James Bond.
After all these years thinking that the small NSW town of Goulburn’s only tourist attraction was a giant ram, they have discovered James Bond is one of their own. The only Australian to play James Bond — actor George Lazenby — is to be the guest star at the town’s new festival Spyfest on September 25- 27. Lazenby was born in Goulburn in 1939 and went to Goulburn public and high schools before leaving the town aged 15.
Lazenby, who now lives in the US, played Bond in the 1969 classic On Her Majesty’s Secret Service and will fly out for the festival.
