Plane ends up in dam
SIX people had a lucky escape after they were able to wade from the their sinking plane that crashed into a dam on the Whitsundays coast. The light plane ended up in the dam at the Lakeside Airpark at Bloomsbury just before 4pm yesterday. Airpark owner Gary Poole said the Cherokee carrying six people crashed off the runway after it “had a hard landing and the pilot lost control”. Mr Poole said the badly damaged aircraft was a write- off.
