Owning our future

Townsville Bulletin - - OPINION -

AUSTRALIA in the year 2100: The waters have risen, the finances have crashed, the banks and multinationals have gained control. A meeting has concluded. The shareholders in Australia, representing the US, UK and China, have decided what to do with Australia.

Outside, the working poor are held back by the control force, the multinational “new” police who by commercial decree maintain private order for the owners of Australia, in riot gear. They use deadly ammunition, as it has been found to be more efficient than rubber bullets which cause injuries reducing capacity to work, which distract workers from their duties; it is more efficient to kill dissidents and train new, compliant operators.

From behind a bulletproof screen the spokesperson commences: “The board has decided that, to meet the current disaster, the Australian dollar will be lowered 10 per cent, the GST will increase 10 per cent, the working day will be extended one hour and the wage paid will be reduced 10 per cent, interest rates on loans will also increase 10 per cent. The holding of physical money, precious metals or the hoarding of food shall remain illegal, to maintain good order. Food allowance will be reduced 10 per cent for one month from today.

“As a result of raids on our produce during transport to our ships, we have suffered losses. These losses will be recovered from the community. The corporation will not tolerate such action. We have decided that the death penalty for failure to register and be chipped, and failure to buy a licence to work, will now be extended to include attacks on our transports, and damaging our surveillance equipment.

“We have taken advice from the Australian Government, and thank them for their input. We have decided that an election will be permitted in 2105. If you wish to nominate, please submit your name to the corporation for vetting.

“We note that the pollution caused by flooding of former urban areas is causing contamination, and have directed that our access points will be on land we resume, as outlaid in the map to be displayed on our website, and the current land, including the urban areas, be returned to Australian Government control for remedial works. We do this with the caution that these areas are now unsafe for entry and must be sectioned off. We expect that the areas will return to a thing of beauty within 100 years, and cease to be a source of contamination within 250 years.

“The corporation members thank you for your hospitality and hard work.”

Welcome to totalitarian Australia – the world our gumby leaders are heading us towards; ideologically blinkered and tempted by the money, and the need to show THEY were the financially responsible ones, no matter what it costs US.

Welcome to the new world order, where corporations control our land, our companies and our finances.

CHRIS EASTAUGHFFE,

Woodstock.
