Stem council water waste

Townsville Bulletin - - OPINION -

SO it’s war on water wasters, as outlined in the Bully ( 21- 7). How about we declare war on council’s water wastage first, starting with the parks and roadways that have broken and misaligned irrigation systems and sprinklers.

It might also be a good idea to give water users a friendly warning, for not adhering to the current Level 1 water restrictions that use the odds and evens systems, don’t wait until the end of the year Councillor Gartrell, act today.

With the Ross Dam at 43% and Paluma at 54% and an El Niño declared, we need to solve the current problem now.

It is inevitable additional infrastructure will have to be put in place as Townsville grows, but let’s not exacerbate a looming water crisis.
