Insurance stays pricey

Townsville Bulletin - - OPINION -

I REFER to the page 3 article ( TB, 24/ 07/ 15) and the comments made regarding the cost of premiums and I quote partially from the statement made by Dr Henderson where he suggests by adopting the housing upgrade it would have a positive effect on premium prices in North Queensland.

It may not and I base that statement on my dealings with a large institution whereby I advised them that I had just had a new roof put on my house with the upgrades to the supporting structure bringing it into line with modern building requirements.

When I requested a reduction in premium cost because I had reduced some of their exposure to risk, I was advised that they would not give a reduction.

DAVID THOUMINE,

Cranbrook.
