Passionate fans make a stand for players
DIEHARD Cowboys fans are sticking by the players amid salary cap breach allegations aired yesterday.
The team’s most passionate fans have gone in to bat for the players, bombarding social media with support for the club.
Two of the teams biggest fans – Taleta Hasted, 17, and Korbyn Prest, 6 – are among those supporting the team, which they’ve grown up barracking for.
“I think they’ve done nothing wrong, I think they are just worried that we are going to win, they do it every year,” Ms Hasted said. “I think it is all going to blow over.” Taleta and Korbyn’s mum, Kym Prest, said she was happy for the NRL to make sure everything was above board, but questioned the timing.
“The timing of it all and the way it has come about, with two Queensland teams on top of the ladder, Broncos were investigated last year so I guess it was our turn,” she said.
“I think everything will be above board, they’ve been legit about the way they run things here, I think they will be fine.
“And we will be there at the grand final, nothing will stop that.”
