Jones gets the nod to stand again for LNP

HERBERT MP Ewen Jones has been pre­s­e­lected by the LNP to re­con­test his seat at next year’s fed­eral elec­tion.

The LNP yesterday pre­s­e­lected 11 sit­ting MPs in Queens­land.

Mr Jones said he was hon­oured to again re­ceive the endorsement of his party.

“I am proud to be part of a gov­ern­ment which is se­ri­ous about de­vel­op­ing the North,” Mr Jones ( pic­tured) said.

“Herbert is a mar­ginal seat and I will con­tinue to do my best to de­liver projects for our city and re­gion.

“From com­mu­nity cy­clone shel­ters to ma­jor road projects; from in­ter­na­tional flights to free trade agree­ments; from health and ed­u­ca­tion to de­fence; from the NDIS to the NBN, I will con­tinue to push for our re­gion.”

Mr Jones will again face his 2013 chal­lenger, La­bor’s Cathy O’Toole.
