Myer axes big brands
MYER is dumping 100 brands to make way for new ones, including Calvin Klein White Label. The department store chain declined to name which labels it will be dropping but said the cull was happening across women’s and men’s apparel, children’s wear, homewares and footwear. It has also announced a surprised spring clearance sale to clear the decks for new brands, including Jack & Jones, Aje, Daniel Avakian, Oscar de la Renta, and Zadig et Voltaire. This follows Monday’s news that the retailer will reduce its permanent staff numbers for more casuals to give it flexibility.
