Bromwich cleared of bit­ing

JESSE Bromwich was last night cleared of a bit­ing charge, de­spite St Ge­orge Illawarra’s Josh Du­gan main­tain­ing he ‘’ had a red mark on my arm with an out­line of saliva’’.

The NRL ju­di­ciary took less than three min­utes to clear Bromwich and al­low him to con­tinue help­ing Mel­bourne’s charge to the fi­nals.

The in­ci­dent was al­leged to have oc­curred dur­ing the Storm’s 22- 4 home win over the Dragons at Napier’s McLean Park on Satur­day.

Du­gan went to NRL Cen­tral to give ev­i­dence against Bromwich, and said the Storm prop had def­i­nitely bit­ten his right bi­ceps.

Re­plays of the Round 20 in­ci­dent beamed in­side the hear­ing showed Du­gan try to grab the at­ten­tion of ref­eree Matt Cecchin for three tack­les.
