JESSICA Scott is preparing for the experience of a lifetime, singing at the “happiest place on Earth”, but only if her family can scrape together enough cash.

The young singer ( pictured) has earned a place in a project put together by the Australian Institute for Performing Arts to sing in Los Angeles, San Diego and at Disneyland.

Now her family must find the money to pay for the course, accommodation and flights. Tuition alone costs almost $ 5500.

Mum Carol Scott is a full- time carer for her husband and said she wasn’t going to be able to save the money up on her own.

Now she has started an online crowd- funding campaign after turning to social media to brainstorm fundraising ideas.

“I’d really like to give her the opportunity to get there,” she said. “The course itself is quite expensive and then there’s the airfares from here to Sydney.”

A student at St Margaret Mary’s College, Jess is a member of the school’s Bella Voce choir and takes part in the Townsville eisteddfod each year.
