McEvoy’s new start
AUSTRALIAN sprint star Cameron McEvoy has had to teach himself how to swim again in his bid to find the extra tenths of a second he needs to become world champion.
McEvoy will enter the FINA world titles in Kazan starting Sunday as favourite in the 100m freestyle and a contender in the 200m freestyle.
After finishing fourth in the 100m final two years ago, McEvoy beat all three men who toppled him at Barcelona in 2013 at the Pan Pacs on the Gold Coast last year.
McEvoy said he has identified and improved two weaknesses — his start and his body positioning under fatigue.
