Charity guests blameless

Townsville Bulletin - - NEWS -

ON the evening of June 16, Cootharinga North Queensland held its charity event, Night Lights by the Water, at the Maritime Museum Park to raise funds to address the critical lack of accessible housing for people with disability in North Queensland.

We were pleased to support another not- for- profit organisation and a Townsville treasure by holding our charity event at the Maritime Museum Park.

After reading John Andersen’s article “A Bit On The Noise” ( Townsville Bulletin 27/ 6/ 17) we would like to make it clear that the “50 noisy guests that remained in the park area at 11pm after the ball finished’’ referenced near the end of the article were not guests from Cootharinga’s charity event.

Our event, Night Lights by the Water, wrapped up at 11pm with guests heading home, and event organisers and volunteers there until 12am cleaning up the park and making sure everything was spotless. We would like to thank all those that were involved in making the event possible.

MORGANNE KOPITTKE, Cootharinga North Queensland.
