Border Force boss in sex link probe
A SEX scandal has engulfed the married boss of the Australian Border Force, Roman Quaedvlieg, amid allegations his young lover may have been questionably promoted.
The high- profile Commissioner, who has been on leave from his $ 700,000 job since Senate estimates earlier this year, is facing a review into a number of allegations.
It is understood the claims centre on Mr Quaedvlieg, 52, being involved with a Sydneybased staff member aged 22 years or younger.
It is alleged the woman may have been promoted during their alleged affair.
Acting Immigration and Border Protection Minister Michael Keenan said yesterday, “The ABF Commissioner is on leave.
“A matter is under consideration by appropriate authorities.
“There will be no further comment until that process is complete.”
Mr Quaedvlieg is a decorated former Australian Federal Police officer who has also worked for the Queensland Police Service.
Within the Turnbull Government and police services, he is viewed as talented, highly ambitious and politically connected.
It was tipped he was in the running for the NSW P o l i c e Co m m i s - si o n e r ’ s job this year.
