Man’s call on axing verdict
A MELBOURNE man accused of trying to murder his wife with an axe to the skull in a beauty parlour is expected to plead guilty to the crime.
The man briefly faced the Melbourne Magistrates Court via video link yesterday, with his legal team telling the court he had made an offer to plead guilty. He allegedly struck his wife 24 times with the axe. The man, who can’t be named, is charged with attempted murder, intentionally and recklessly causing serious injury in circumstances of “gross violence” and other assault offences.
