HAPPY T O BE F AN FOR L ONG HAUL

- CHRISTIE ANDERSON

EVERY home game weekend North Queensland Cowboys diamond member David Catanzaro bundles the family in the car and heads up the highway from the Burdekin.

Since joining as a member in 2013 he hasn’t missed a game and loves nothing more than pulling on the blue and yellow jersey and cheering his team on from the stands.

Mr Catanzaro said he had been a Cowboys fan since 2005 but didn’t join until 2013 and he has been enjoying the perks of being a member.

“It ( membership) gets you one of the best seats in the house and it gets you into all the functions and you’re pretty much top of the list for any promotions they do,” he said.

“I like the Cowboys because I’m from the Burdekin so they are a close team to follow, they are accessible compared to a team from down south and it’s easier to get to all the games.

“I don’t think we’ve missed a game. It’s a big commitment but we love it.

“When they are playing well the stadium really rocks and everyone really gets behind the boys.”

Mr Catanzaro recently got to perform the guard of honour with his 11- year- old son Riley and he has shared his game day experience with the Townsville Bulletin. To watch the video visit our website townsvillebulletin. com. au.
