Horse float in train crash

TWO people were taken to hos­pi­tal after a train and a horse float be­ing towed by a car col­lided at a rail­way cross­ing south of Townsville last night.

Emer­gency ser­vices were called to Glenore Rd, at Guthalun­gra be­tween Ayr and Bowen, just be­fore 7pm after re­ports of a crash be­tween a train and car.

The fe­male driver of the ve­hi­cle and male driver of the train were both taken to Bowen Hos­pi­tal by Queens­land Am­bu­lance Ser­vice paramedics in sta­ble con­di­tions.

The train was be­lieved to be a Queens­land Rail freight train.

No one else was in­jured in the crash.
