Cheers to top first year in business

Townsville Bulletin - - NEWS - CHRIS McMAHON

A TOWNSVILLE bar has been recognised for its outstanding first year in business, nominated for a number of national awards.

Hooch & Fellow will go head to head with some of the best Australian bars in the New Bar, Small Bar and Regional Bar of the Year cate- gories of the Bartender Magazine Australian Bar Awards.

Owner Josh Agostino said it was a huge honour to be recognised, with their unique offerings set to put them a cut above the rest.

“This is huge for us … we’re coming up on one year this month, so it’s a real honour,” he said. “It’s great to be recognised by your peers, to know that we really are doing something different for a regional area.

“The biggest difference for people when they get here is table service – it’s like a restaurant for drinks – and the rotating drinks list. Our cocktail list changes twice a week and we use local, fresh produce.

“Every time someone comes here there is something different.”
